McCardle increases lead in Chelan Mayoral race

CHELAN – With only 111 ballots left to count in the Chelan County General Election, many candidates take seats as clear winners, with the City of Chelan Mayoral race remaining too close to call.

Erin McCardle leads incumbent Mayor Bob Goedde by 62 votes. McCardle has 829 votes, or 51.65% of the ballots counted so far, while Goedde has 767 votes (47.79%). The prior update, released Nov. 9, showed McCardle with a 60-vote lead.

Terry Sanders, Brad Chitty, Jon M. Higgins, and Mark Ericks are the uncontested winners for Council seats #1, #3, #4, and #5, respectively. 

Winners Len England and Doug Gibson hold seats for Hospital District No. 2 Commissioner #1 and Hospital District No. 2 Commissioner #5. 

Barb Polley, Kim Thorpe, and Christy C. Nielsen take seats for Lake Chelan School District #129 School Board Member District #2, #4, and #5 At Large for this multi-county race. These results include only Chelan County. 

Manson School District 19 School Board Member Director District #1 sees an uncontested win for Ruth Escalera. Seats #2, and #3 see victories for Kourtney Alanis and Allan Torgesen, Alanis with 59.14% of the vote and Torgesen with 73.69%. 

Fire District #7 Commissioner candidate Mark Donnell triumphs over Ben Laughlin with 62.87% of the vote. 

Chris Willoughby is Fire District #5 Commissioner with the recent passing of competing former Commissioner Dana Starkweather.  

Susan Young and Scott A. Dietrich take seats as Chelan Falls Water District Commissioner #1 and Commissioner #3, respectively. 

Linda Martinson sits as Cemetery District No. 4 Commissioner #2. 

Lake Chelan Sewer District Commissioner 3 candidate Mark Babcock celebrates an uncontested win.

Manson Parks and Recreation District Commissioner positions #2, #4, and #5 are official wins for Ivan De Jesús, Leslie Burns, and Susan (Miller) Fox. 

The remaining 111 ballots are expected to be counted at 2 p.m. on Nov. 28.
