Posted

CHELAN – Routine inspection and spring maintenance on Knapp’s Hill Tunnel on US 97A north of Entiat, and south of Chelan, will require a daytime closure of the tunnel on Monday, April 3.

To safely perform the inspection, the tunnel will close beginning at 8 a.m. between milepost 223 and milepost 230. During the closure, a maintenance team will also be on location to perform illumination repairs and remove graffiti inside the tunnel, and broom and clear catch basins on either side of the tunnel to make the most of the scheduled road closure. Local traffic can use SR 971 Navarre Coulee Road, but it is recommended that travelers between Chelan and Wenatchee use US 97 on the east side of the Columbia River.

Updates will be shared on the WSDOT real time travel map and on Twitter at @WSDOT_East.
