Weight restrictions now on in four county road districts

Posted

CHELAN-ENTIAT-CASHMERE-LEAVENWORTH - Temporary weight restrictions are now on in the Entiat, Leavenworth, Cashmere and Chelan road districts. Only emergency vehicles, school buses or vehicles with a gross weight of 34,000 pounds or less are exempt. All other vehicles must possess a special county permit when traveling on a weight-restricted county road.
The free permit, when approved, must be displayed in the vehicle's lower right-hand corner of the windshield. Freight haulers who do not have a permit to travel on a weight-restricted road risk a fine and the cost of damages for any road repairs. Haulers are reminded that permit applications must be in by 10 a.m. Monday through Thursday for approval the following day. (If you need a permit on a Monday, the application must be in by 10 a.m. the previous Thursday.)
An online map and an updated list of roads impacted by the temporary weight restrictions are on our Traffic Alerts and Restrictions webpage.
