Main Street Gallery, Sigillo Cellars to present paintings by Kristin Morris at Feb. 3 Wine and Chocolate Art Show

Music-themed images evoke link between sound and sight

CHELAN - Swirling musical notes combined with piano keys are recurring subjects in the vivid and energized painting by acclaimed Northwest master, Kristin Morris, in the current installation at the former Lakeside School in Chelan February 3 through February 28. The contemporary paintings showing this month at the Sigillo Cellars salon are created on framed wooden panels to achieve a smooth, clean surface and crisp edges. Even the most casual viewer will sense a lively interplay of sound and sight.

“Our featured artist is one of my very favorites,’’ said Art Curator Terry J. LaBrue, APR of the Main Street Gallery. “Some of the works by Morris offer a cubist or art deco motif, while others are more expressive plein aire orientations. Kristin Morris has a grand sense of color and actually developed a formal plan that dictates music tone with color tone. It’s magic.’’

‘‘This new music-oriented show is in its second month of a year-long series at Sigillo Cellars,’’ Ashtyn Catoe, Sigillo Cellars manager said. ‘‘We are very pleased with the community response in the middle of winter,’’ Catoe added. “Our first artist reception in January was standing room only.’’

An open house reception with wine, chocolate, and live music with Mac Potts in ‘The Principal’s Office’ begins at 3 p.m. and lasts until 6 p.m. This month the keyboards will be played and seen in a clever artistic mash-up.

Sigillo Cellars is located at 2037 W. Woodin Avenue in Chelan. Main Street Gallery’s main shop is at 208 E. Woodin Avenue in Downtown Chelan. For additional information info@sigillocellars.com URL: mainstreetgallerychelan.com
