Guild Y hosting No Sweat Tennis Tournament

Posted

CHELAN - Lake Chelan Community Hospital’s Guild Y has a new fundraiser underway. A $10 donation to the Guild will serve as a player’s entry fee into the No Sweat Tennis Tournament.

No tennis racquets or balls, court shoes or fancy tennis whites are necessary for this No Sweat Tournament. Brackets for each division will be arranged and matches will be won by a two out of three coin toss win. Results will be posted in the Historic Downtown Chelan Association office in the old Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce building in downtown Chelan. The tournament posters will be available for viewing on Tuesday, July 11. The first round of No Sweat matches will be held on Monday, July 17, with weekly “matches” to be decided on the following consecutive Mondays.

The Children’s League is for children ages 12 and under, with a Tennis the Menace Boys Division and a Sweet Tots Girls Division. There is a Youth League for teens between the ages of 13 and 19, with a Big Hitters Division for boys and a Love Hurts Division for girls..

The Doubles League for all ages is divided into the Racq Pacq Division for men, the Racquettes Division for women and the No Strings Attached Division for mixed doubles.

The Men’s Tennis League is divided by age groups into the One Hit Wonders Division for ages 20 to 39; the One Stroke Division for ages 40 to 59; the Get a Grip Division for ages 60 to 79; and the Court Jesters Division for ages 80 and beyond.

The Women’s League is divided into the following divisions—Bio-Freeze Babes, 20 to 39; Arthritic Angels, 40 to 59; Tennis Elbows, 60 to 79; and Out of Bounds for women ages 80 and beyond.

A donation of only $10 to Guild Y is all that is required to join in the fun and support our local hospital. Contact Vicki Carr at (509) 888-6332 if you have questions or would like to enter the tennis tournament.
