Manson Apple Blossom Quilt Show winners announced

Sixty-six quilts were showcased at the 102nd Manson Apple Blossom Festival’s quilt show on May 14, chaired  by Sue Neff and Christy Libbey. Thirteen of those were on the stage as the favorites of the Undercover Quilt Guild members.  Nineteen large quilts, 10 medium, 18 small, 6 applique/embroidery entries and 11 challenge blocks were contributed.  The Royalty Choice award was Karen Phelps’ Summer at the Sandpiper large quilt and the People’s Choice award was earned by Jeff Hortin’s hand embroidered/hand quilted Lilacs quilt made by his grandmother. Other winners were: Large Quilts – 1st place Omigosh by Tracy Shaw, 2nd place – Red Hots by Sue Neff, 3rd place tie – Harvest Spice  by Linda Clark and Ombre Lattice by Kaki Morehead. Medium Quilts – 1st place Cats and Mouse by Tracy Shaw, 2nd place – Chocolate Decadence by Christy Libbey, and 3rd place – Brightly by Idena Downey. Small Quilts – 1st place Home by Jean Horner, 2nd place A Day at the Beach by Karen Jeffries, 3rd place Turtles by Karen Jeffries. Applique/ Embroidery – 1st place On My Side of the River by Adrienne Carpenter, 2nd place Dream Big Poinsettia by Karen Phelps. Challenge Blocks – Christy Libbey. Approximately 12-15 members worked the show and helped take it down, along with Dave Clark and Rocky Libbey.
