Graduates- it's time!

Graduation is almost here and soon you will be out in the world, but before that happens we would like you to send in your picture and your keepsake form that was sent to your school, for the local newspapers "Graduation Keepsake "in the Leavenworth Echo and the Cashmere Valley Record published on June 3. Please fill it out and get it back to your school or the Leavenworth Echo office or email to Reporter@leavenworthecho.com. Beginning Birder Field Trips
Attention Beginner birders: The Leavenworth Spring Bird Fest is back. Bird Fest is a partnership between WRI and NCW Audubon Society. This year, it takes place from May 19 -May 22. For the first time ever, Free to Low-cost field trips will be offered the week leading up to Bird Fest and throughout the weekend. These trips are designed for people new to birding, students, working people, and even youth. Beginning on May 16, you will find field trips that take you to the Entiat Waterfront, Walla Walla Point Park, Number 2 Canyon in Wenatchee, Nahahum Canyon in Cashmere, Waterfront Park in Leavenworth, and others. No matter where you are in the valley, there is an opportunity for you to explore and learn –and at little to no cost. Many trips are with bilingual leaders as well. No prior bird knowledge is needed. Don’t have any binoculars? There will be Free loaner binoculars available to you. Just bring yourself, a curious mind, and proper clothing and shoes. Hazardous Fuels Reduction
Okanogan-Wenatchee Forest Service has scheduled a 16-acre burn to reduce some hazardous fuels, off of Chiwawa Loop Road, two miles East of Lake Wenatchee. Burning is scheduled from Monday, May 9 to Thursday, May 12, also dependent on weather conditions. The burn will be conducted over multiple days of ignitions, accompanied by small one-plots for case studies.

Leavenworth Lions Club Breakfasts in the Park
Enjoy a hearty all-you-can-eat breakfast of pancakes, eggs, and sausage. Satisfy your appetite and support your community at the same time. The proceeds support community vision, hearing and diabetes needs and so much more. Breakfasts will be held every 2nd and 4th Saturday. Dates for May are the 14 and 28th, June, July and August at Lions Club Park. Ages 10+ $9.00, Ages 4-9 $4.00 and free to ages under 3 and Military personnel with ID.

Cascade Garden Club
Plant and Bake Sale, May 14, 9 a.m.-2 p.m at the Chamber of Commerce parking lot. Perennials, herbs and vegetables from local gardeners.

Free wood debris recycling days
On May 21, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Chelan County Day pit on E. Leavenworth Road and the intersection of icicle Road. Sign up at info@chumstickcoalition.org Only natural wood 8 inches and under, no yard waste or processed lumber.

The Cascadia Conservation District
