Blue Christmas Service

CHELAN - Christmas can be a sad and lonely time of the year for many, who often experience pain, stress, darkness and a sense of loss during the holiday season. With this in mind, an ecumenical Blue Christmas service will held at Lake Chelan United Methodist Church on Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 5:30 pm. The service is being sponsored by the Lake Chelan Lutheran Church, St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church and the Methodist church. The music, liturgy and ritual of the Blue Christmas service will offer reassurance, peace and hope for all. Everyone is welcome. Come as you are.

MANSON - North Shore Bible Church will have two Christmas Eve services, 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24. They will offer childcare at the 4 p.m. service. North Shore Bible Church, is located at123 Wapato Point Parkway, Manson.

Salvation Army Bell Ringers needed in Lake Chelan Valley
CHELAN - Bell ringing began the day after Thanksgiving and ends Dec. 24. Bell ringing shifts are 1 1/2 hours. Shifts start at: 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. Days available:  Wednesday (Dec. 5, 12 and 19), Friday (Dec. 7, Dec. 21, Saturday (Dec. 22) and Monday (Dec. 24, Christmas Eve) Be a Back up Bell Ringer:  Not sure what date?  Sing up for the  “back up bell ringer” list, and if a cancellation occurs, they can call to see if you might be able to cover it. In-Door Locations (Friday, Saturday and Monday):  Chelan Safeway or Manson Red Apple. New - on the corner at the Chellan Post Office (outdoors) - 1/2 days on Wednesdays. The Chelan Senior Center will hold their Christmas Dinner n Saturday, Dec. 15, at 6 p.m. Prime rib, Caesar salad, vegetables, roll with New York Cheese cake with a fruit topping. Reservations a must. Call 682-2712.

Story time Chelan / Manson Libraries

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!
MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

Cancer Support Group, yoga class

CHELAN - Wellness/Restorative yoga, a guided practice of gentle yoga postures and movement designed for cancer survivors, individuals living with acute or chronic illnesses, and caregivers is available at no charge. This class is held each Wednesday at 3:45 p.m. at Yogachelan.  Contact Yogachelan for more information.
The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, meets the second Tuesday of each month with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

Baby rhymin’ time

CHELAN - Baby rhymin’ time is every Friday at 10 a.m., at the Chelan Pubic Library on Emerson Street, for ages 0-3 years. Join them for singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, musical instruments, and story telling for babies, waddlers and toddlers.

Manson Mingle

MANSON - This is your invitation to join us for the Manson Mingle starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the Manson Village Center,145 Wapato Way. You are not required to own a business to be part of the fun. This will be a special Mingle with three of our local wineries taking part in the event, C R Sandidge Wines, Skagit Cellars and Wild Rose Vineyards. Food will be provided by Troy’s Pizza and Green Dot Sub Shop. It would be a great idea dress in the holiday spirit as you will have an opportunity to have your photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Around 7 p.m. Debbie Conwell will be in the Manson Chamber of Commerce’s office (same building) where all can gather to learn what the Chamber has in store for the rest of 2018 and Winterfest on January 18 – 28.

WENATCHEE - The Wenatchee Valley Chapter of the Lilac Services For the Blind meets every second Wednesday of the month at 4 Kittitas St. across the street from the bus station in Wenatchee, second floor, at noon. CHELAN – Downtown Weekend Events for Dec 15, 11-5 p.m.: Holiday Crafts for Kids at Chelan Printing, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., sponsored by The Lake Chelan Artist Alliance. L-Bow the Elf will be downtown from 1-3 p.m. Find Santa Downtown and receive a candy cane from 1-2 p.m. Holiday Matinee at the Historic Ruby Theatre, show time at 3 pm, sponsored by Bear Foods. Chelan Valley Hope’s Manger Mall

MANSON - The 10th annual Manger Mall will be held Dec. 15 at North Shore Bible Church in Manson. The goal is to distribute new toys to families in need. Registrations forms have been distributed through the Chelan and Manson schools and several community service organizations. Families are assigned a specific time to shop and purchase one toy and one comfort item per registered child for $1 each. New toys are needed with a suggested cost of $25. Homemade comfort items such as blankets, scarves and gloves are also needed. Unwrapped items can be dropped off at the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce by Dec. 12. If you would like to make a monetary donation please send a check payable to the Manger Mall to PO Box 477, Chelan, 98816.

Red Cross Blood Drive

CHELAN - An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held on Wed., Dec. 19, 1-6 p.m. at the Lake Chelan United Methodist Church, located at the corner of Johnson and Emerson. To donate: Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org or call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood.

Potluck dinner

CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on that Sunday.
