Thursday Evening Farmers Market to open

CHELAN -  Opening day of the Thursday Evening Farmers market will be Thursday, May 25, 4-7 p.m. Market is located on the corner of S. Emerson and Wapato Streets, between the Riverwalk Inn and Riverwalk Park. Enjoy live music (Dan Quigley), local crafts, plant starts, and maybe some fresh greens. Craft vendors will still need to jury to be accepted, but they are no longer limited to the amount of crafters they can accept. Of course all local farmers, food vendors, wine/beer/cider producers etc. are welcome. Most of past vendors/members that will be joining them again. Story time at library

CHELAN - Story time is every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Chelan Public Library located on Emerson Street. Join them for singing, dancing, clapping, music making as well as reading. It’s both fun and educational!

Story time at library

MANSON - Every Wednesday at 11 a.m. the Manson Community Library offers a story time for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.  Join the group for a half hour of stories, rhymes, songs, finger plays and other activities.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

After school activity at library

MANSON - “The Page Turners” is the name for the group of kids that gather at the Manson Community library to listen to stories after school.  They will meet every Wednesday at 3:45 p.m.  The group will have an after school snack, listen to a short story and one chapter of a continuing chapter book and make a craft.  This group is most appropriate for ages 6 to 10 but all children are welcome.  For more information call the library at 687-3420.

Cancer Support Groups

CHELAN - Second Meeting Added: The Women’s Wellness Group, cancer support group, now has 2 support groups, the second Tuesday of each month for lunch, with lunch provided by the Wenatchee Wellness Place, at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room at 11:45 a.m. and the fourth Wednesday of each month at LaBrisa at 5 p.m.  For more information, contact Anne at 682-8718.

Salmon Recovery Board to meet

CHELAN - The Upper Columbia Salmon Recovery Board meeting will be  Thursday, May 25, 11 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. at the Chelan Fire House, 232 E. Wapato Avenue. Celebrate Recovery

CHELAN - Lake Chelan Celebrate Recovery Meets every Thursday at Living Stone Church, (formerly Little Stone Church), 2133 W. Woodin Avenue. Dinner is at 6 p.m., cost is $3. Group meeting at 6:30 p.m., followed by gender-specific small groups. Celebrate Recovery is a confidential, Biblically-based twelve step program for anyone struggling with addiction, co-dependency, gambling, relationships and other life issues.

CHELAN - Baby rhymin’ time is every Friday at 10 a.m., at the Chelan Pubic Library on Emerson Street, for ages 0-3 years. Join them for singing, dancing, nursery rhymes, musical instruments, and story telling for babies, waddlers and toddlers.

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Men’s group meets the 2nd and 4th Thursdays, at The Vogue, at 7 a.m.. All men who have a belief in Jesus Christ are welcome to attend.

Potluck dinner

CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on the Sunday.

CHELAN - Al-Anon meets every Tuesday, 12 p.m. in the Apple Cup Cafe Banquet Room. This is an open meeting.

Folk music duo Hungrytown coming to Chelan Public Library

CHELAN - The folk music duo Hungrytown is coming to three North Central Regional Library branch libraries this month to entertain and help out local food banks. The Vermont-based group, made up of Rebecca Hall They will present their free show, “Let’s Feed This Hungry Town”, will be at the Chelan Public Library, 7 p.m., May 31. Everyone is invited to bring a canned food or other non-perishable item. Food or cash donations will be given to the Lake Chelan Food Bank. For more information about the group, visit hungrytown.net. Bilingual story time

CHELAN - Bilingual story time is the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m.at the Chelan Library. A fun half hour of stories in Spanish and English for families. The Chelan Library is located at the corner of Emerson and Chelan. For information 682-5131.

Aging & Adult Services board meeting

EAST WENATCHEE - The 2017 meeting schedule for the Columbia River Council of Governments, governing body of Aging and Adult Care of Central Washington, scheduled to meet at 50 Simon Street S.E.: June 1; July 6; Aug. 3; Sept. 7; Oct. 5; Nov. 2; and Dec.7.   All meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. Grant County Commissioner Cindy Carter is chair of the council, composed of one county commissioner from Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Grant, Lincoln, and Okanogan Counties. Garden Party Lunch

MANSON - June 3, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.: The “Vegetable Soup Brigade” is putting on its aprons and inviting the women of the valley (Kindergarteners to Seniors), to come and enjoy a Garden Party Lunch. All food and beverages will be provided. There will be a wonderful time of fellowship, food and fun in the sun. This event will take place at 175 Green Avenue, Manson. Veteran’s Assistance

CHELAN - The Chelan County Veteran’s Service Coordinator will be in Chelan the second Thursday of each month, beginning Feb. 9. Billy Thames will be at the Apple Cup Cafe Banquet Room, 9-11 a.m. Those veterans who need to file a claim or inquire about benefits can come at that time. Spay-ghetti fundraiser

MANSON - A benefit for the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society, Spay-ghetti and No Balls, to help support their spay/neuter program, will be held Saturday, June 10, 5-8 p.m. at Blueberry Hills in Manson. Tickets are $25 each. Purchase tickets online at: www.wenatcheehumane.org, or call (509) 662-9577.

MANSON - The Chelan County Fire District 5 Commissioners will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday, June 13. It will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Station 51 located at 250 W. Manson Blvd. 

Heritage Heights board meeting

CHELAN - The Heritage Heights Assisted Living monthly board meeting will be held June 13, (second Tuesday of every month), at 5 p.m. in the activity room at Heritage Heights.  Community members are welcome to attend.  The meeting lasts approximately one hour.
