Manson Farmers Market

MANSON - The Farmer’s Market in Manson is open Saturday and Wednesday mornings at the Manson Grange. Market starts at 8:30 a.m. until 12 noon. There is produce, baked goods, jams, honey, crafts and more. The Manson Grange is at 157 Wapato Way on the right as you enter Manson. CHELAN -  Last Market for 2019: Thursday Evening Farmers market is open now thru the end of September, 4-7 p.m. The market is located on the corner of S. Healing Prayers

CHELAN - Healing Prayers is a safe, non judgmental, hope filled ministry lead by compassionate believers from multi-denominational churches with in the Chelan Valley and is endorsed by many area churches. Healing Prayers operates in the power of God’s Holy Word to seek and to save the lost and to restore the broken hearted. They trust in God’s precepts and commandments and the promises HE gives to his children; including promises to non believers who are searching for answers in their lives. The invitation is for all who are seeking prayer, healing, direction,  and restoration. Our prayers are for Gods Divine Healing, physically, emotionally & spiritually.  Delivering The Word of Hope, Encouragement, Instruction and Redemption. Location:  213 Sanders St. Chelan. Located on the Campus of the Nazarene Church and is across the street from the Fire Station. Dates: Every second and fourth Thursday of Every Month. Time: 6-8 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group

CHELAN - Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group for Chelan/Manson is Wednesday, Sept. 25, 9 -11:00 a.m. (4th Wednesday of each month) at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital Board Room. The group is open to caregivers and loved ones with Alzheimer’s. Currently four caregivers are attending and they have room for  up to 12. Tender Loving Care Volunteers will be available to provide caregiver support (care in the home for the person with Alzheimer’s) during the meeting. Calling All Volunteer Grandpas

CHELAN - An informational meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26 in the Morgen Owings Elementary library from 5-6 p.m. Men who are interested in learning about Grandpas in the Classroom, and potentially participating, are encouraged to attend. During the meeting, program expectations will be shared, and questions will be answered. Brooks will be joined by Morgen Owings Principal Erin Morin, Vice Principal Todd Hausman, and Thrive Chelan Valley Executive Director, Kayla Helleson. Guests will get to hear from a few of last years grandpas and teachers as well. Plans are also underway to introduce an inaugural presence for Grandpas in the Classroom in Manson Elementary.

Libraries to host an evening of guitar, song

CHELAN/CASHMERE - Several North Central Regional Library branches are hosting an evening of guitar and song with musicians Mark and Cindy Lemaire in September. Mark Lemaire is known for his unique guitar style, incorporating masterful fingerpicking, slap-and-tap harmonics, and hand percussion, while his harmonies with wife Cindy are perfectly matched. Their material runs from tongue-in-cheek songs about married life to stories about middle age, with a musical style that ranges from delicate guitar solos to raucous sing-alongs. They will perform at the following locations: Sept. 26: Chelan Public Library, 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27: Cashmere Public Library, 6:30 p.m.

Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan United Methodist Church Community ‘Soup’ Kitchen is open every Friday, noon to 1:30 p.m. The church is located at the corner of Johnson and Emerson.

Potluck dinner

CHELAN - Berean Baptist Church has a potluck dinner after the morning service on the last Sunday of every month. The church is located at 515.  E. Woodin Ave. There will be no evening service on that Sunday.

CHELAN - The North Cascades Sportsman’s Club Board meetings are held the first Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. Meetings take place at the Chelan PUD located at 1034 E. Woodin Ave. in Chelan.

Chelan Ridge Hawkwatch Field Trip 

CHELAN/LEAVENWORTH - Each fall thousands of hawks, eagles, and falcons fly along a high ridge above Lake Chelan on their way to winter territories. Join Wenatchee River Institute for a field trip to the Chelan Ridge Hawkwatch International (HWI) observation point to witness this amazing spectacle. Field Trip Cost: WRI-Members $45, Non-Member $60, with WRI Otter Van transportation included. Participants will leave from the Wenatchee River Institute campus in Leavenworth at 8 a.m., or from the Penny Road Park and Ride in Wenatchee at 8:45 a.m. Please pack a lunch, snacks and water, and be prepared to hike for 30 minutes at approximately 6,000 feet elevation.
