ECHO RIDGE: For the latest grooming report go to lakechelannordic.org. Passes are now required. Season passes and Nordic Club memberships can be purchased online at LakeChelanNordic.org. Use your receipt for proof of payment until you receive your season pass in the mail. Day passes can be purchased for $10 per person 18 years and older at the trailhead with cash or check.
ECHO VALLEY: Echo Valley Ski area is not open for the season yet. Go to skiechovalley.com for updates. When open, they are open weekends and holidays throughout the ski season, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Chelan FFA “Sock-ember” 
now thru Dec. 18
CHELAN: Chelan FFA is hoping to give back to our community by collecting socks in December, with their “Sock-ember”. A collection bin is at the front office of the Middle/High School. They request socks be new and preferably packaged. If it does not work to deliver to school, please email them at chsffa@chelanschools.org, if you have socks you wish to donate.
Sen Hawkins’ fourth annual 
‘listening tour’: Dec. 10
OLYMPIA - Sen. Brad Hawkins will hold his fourth annual 12th District “listening tour” on Thursday, Dec. 10. It will be conducted virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Meetings with Hawkins during this year’s virtual tour will take place through Zoom video conferencing or traditional conference phone calls, each lasting up to 20 minutes. Individuals or groups interested in meeting with Hawkins should contact his office at brad.hawkins@leg.wa.gov or 360-688-8951 to schedule an appointment and receive information about the technology details. In addition to the individual or group appointments, Hawkins will host two virtual “community meetings” via Zoom at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 10, each lasting about one hour, and everyone is invited.
Manson Park & Recreation: Dec. 10

‘What’s Up Vet!’ - Informational Zoom meetings: Dec. 10, 15
NCW - All Chelan and Douglas County veterans are invited to attend the new “What’s Up Vet!” informational meetings via Zoom. Every Tuesday/Thursday from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. Open to vets, spouses, dependents and anyone with questions regarding veteran benefits and resources. Small Town Holidays Dec. 11-Dec. 31
CHELAN/MANSON - The Historic Downtown Chelan Association teamed up the Lake Chelan Wine Alliance, the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce and More to Manson to create a series of new activities and events for the holiday season. Lots of shopping, dining, wine tasting, and holiday fun for the whole family in the Lake Chelan Valley thru Dec. 231.
Lightened boat parade, fireworks
The Lady of the Lake will be the Grand Marshal of the Holiday Lights Boat Parade.  The Lady will be joined by other notable boats from Chelan County Marine Patrol and Chelan Fire District Marine 71. The Lake Chelan boating community is invited to be part of this event.  Boats wishing to join should creatively light up your boat and be stationed close to the Chelan Boat Company dock just southwest of downtown Chelan.  Being part of the parade is also a great way to watch the weekly fireworks show that will start at 5:30 p.m. Parade dates and times are:  Dec. 12 departing at 4:30 p.m. (Chelan Fireworks); Dec. 19 departing at 4:30 p.m. (Manson Fireworks); Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. (Chelan Fireworks at 9 p.m.)

Small Town Holiday events and activities have been designed with current health and safety restrictions in mind so patrons have a safe and enjoyable experience in the Lake Chelan valley.

Manger Mall: Dec. 12
CHELAN/MANSON - The 12th annual Manger Mall will be held on Saturday, Dec. 12 at the North Shore Bible Church in Manson, as a drive-through event.  Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there to wave and say hi to the children, Christmas music will be playing and they will even have a lighted Christmas tree. Thanks to the generous donations made by so many local organizations and individuals, the Manger Mall Team will be purchasing Lake Chelan Chamber Bucks Gift Certificates for all registered children. Salvation Army Red Kettle event: Dec. 12
CHELAN - The local Salvation Army Red Kettle Holiday campaign will look very different this year. The event will be a “drive-through” fundraiser in the Campbell’s parking lot and will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. As always, plenty of bell ringers will be on site bearing Holiday cheer, albeit from a safe distance. Donors will be directed to enter Campbell’s parking lot from Woodin Ave. on the Southeast corner of the property and to exit on Manson Highway to the North.  Donations will be touchless, with a large Red Kettle for donations. All donations will remain entirely local. The proceeds will assist the clients of Chelan Valley Hope (CVH), who have been particularly challenged in this difficult year of COVID. Food Bank  food distribution: Dec.12, 15
CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Food Bank food giveaway is on Saturday and Tuesday, 9-10 a.m. Distribution continues to be drive-thru. The Lake Chelan Food Bank is located at 417 S. Bradley Street. 
Community Center live online event: Dec. 13
CHELALN - The Seven Acres Foundation would like to invite everyone to tune in for a fun and informative Facebook Live event on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 5 p.m. to learn more about The Community Center at Lake Chelan. Seven Acres Board President, Ben Williams, will share all the latest information on the project in a Q&A session, and special guests Holly Brown and Tom Pettigrew will be on hand to discuss developments in the local wine industry.  The event can be accessed via the CCLC’s Facebook page, or on the Center’s website at www.ccatlakechelan.org.

Manson Community Council: Dec. 15
MANSON - The next Manson Community Council meeting will be held Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at Blueberry Hills.   Agenda will be posted on their Facebook page, closer to the meeting. Monthly meetings are held every third Tuesday of each month. 
Lake Chelan Health board: Dec. 15
CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Health board of commissioners (formerly Lake Chelan Community Hospital & Clinics) will meet on Tuesday, Dec. 15 at 1:30 via zoom. For more information go to www.lakechelanhealth.com. They normally meet the 4th Tuesday of the month. 
City of Chelan Council: Dec. 15

Julie is the Washington State Concerns of Police Survivors suicide liaison ; Washington State Representative of the National Police Suicide Foundation; and most recently has become  a committee member of the new organization, Survivors of Blue Suicide or SBS. 11 a.m.-1.pm. Rock painting for kids with Celeste and Marla and 1-2 p.m.  Puppets with Marla Bailey When Puppets Lucy and Gloria heard of Governor Inslee’s latest Covid-19 restrictions they encouraged Mama Marla not to worry.  She wouldn’t have to say a word.  They determined they could handle it. Together they will do their tricks and tell their stories bringing the Christmas story to you in a fresh new way. “How will they do this?” Come and see.

Lake Chelan School District: Dec. 22 
CHELAN - The Lake Chelan School District board of directors will meet at 6 p.m. on Dec. 22. This meeting will be available to the  Board of Directors and community members via video conferencing.  If you would like to attend this meeting via phone or computer, please contact Georgia Mashayekh prior to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, to learn how to connect. Because of the format of the meeting, public comments and questions for the school board must be submitted to Georgia Mashayekh before 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22.
Manson Fire #5: Jan. 12
MANSON - Chelan County Fire Protection District No. 5 board of commissioners will hold their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 4:30 p.m. at Station 51, 250 West Manson Blvd. via phone conference. For information: mansonfire.org
