ECHO RIDGE: For the latest grooming report go to lakechelannordic.org. Passes are required. Season passes and Nordic Club memberships can be purchased online at LakeChelanNordic.org. Use your receipt for proof of payment until you receive your season pass in the mail. Day passes can be purchased for $10 per person 18 years and older at the trailhead with cash or check.

Hazardous Waste Disposal for Small Businesses: Deadline to register Feb. 24
WENATCHEE - Chelan County businesses in need of hazardous waste disposal must pre-register to participate in the Chelan County Small Quantity Generator Event by Feb. 24. The event, which will take place on March 3, is an opportunity for local businesses to dispose of hazardous wastes, often at reduced costs. Businesses that accumulate up to 2,200 pounds of hazardous wastes per year at their place of business may qualify as a Small Quantity Generator. Those businesses must pre-register to be eligible to participate in the event. To pre-register for the event, contact Chelan County Public Works 509-667-6415. P.E.O. Scholarship Opportunity: 
April 30 deadline 
NCW - Applications are now being accepted for the Upper Valley Scholarship supported by P.E.O. Chapter JF, Leavenworth.   The purpose of the scholarship is to assist women in need of financial help return to higher education in an accredited university, college or technical school in the State of Washington.  This needs-based scholarship must be used for school expenses and will be paid directly to the school. Applications must be received for consideration by April 30, 2021.  Scholarship funds will be available by the Fall of 2021, and be sent directly to the school financial department upon confirmation of enrollment. Women applicants must be seeking further higher education at either the undergraduate or graduate level in one of the following ways:
• Applicant must be age 30 or above and reside in Chelan or Douglas County
• Applicant must be currently enrolled in, or returning to, a higher education program after a two-year or more absence.
Chelan Fire & Rescue: Feb. 17
CHELAN - The  Chelan Fire & Rescue board of commissioners will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 3 p.m. via Zoom. The public is welcome to join them. They meet the third Wednesday of the month. Go to chelan.7.com for information.
Red Cross Blood Drive: Feb. 17 
Chelan - An American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held Feb. 17, 12 p.m. - 6 p.m., at the Lake Chelan United Methodist Church, corner of Johnson Avenue and Emerson Street. To make an appointment visit  RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.  Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive. CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Food Bank food giveaway is on Saturday and Tuesday, 9-10 a.m. Distribution is  drive-thru. They are located at 417 S. Bradley Street.

CHELAN - The Lake Chelan School District board of directors will meet at 6 p.m. on Feb. 23.
