Monetary donations sought for Manger Mall
LAKE CHELAN VALLEY - For the past 11 years, Chelan Valley Hope’s Manger Mall has provided Christmas gifts to approximately 750 children each year.  However, due to ongoing COVID-19 concerns, changes must be made to protect our participating families and volunteers.
The most significant change is that toys will not be provided for families, and there will not be a shopping event for toys this year.  Instead, each registered child will receive a Lake Chelan Chamber Bucks gift certificate which may be used for toys, electronics or clothing at any business or store belonging to the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce.
The second significant change is that this will be a drive-through event similar to how the Food Bank operates. Parents will drive up to a check-in point, give their Appointment Confirmation card to a volunteer, and receive a gift certificate for each of their pre-registered children.
Donations may be mailed to P.O. Box 477 in Chelan, 98816 or made electronically to ChelanValleyHope.org, by clicking on the “Donate to Manger Mall” button on the Home page.  Please make your donation by December 7, to allow time for the Chamber to print certificates.
Manger Mall anticipates that this year’s need will be even greater in these uncertain economic times.  Please help with any amount you are able to give.  We know that many of you have enjoyed volunteering at Manger Mall each December and hope that you will consider helping instead through your monetary donations.
The one thing that will not change is that this heartwarming annual community event will again ensure that many children in the Chelan Valley will have a Merry Christmas.  Thank you for your generosity and support.

TLC for Seniors has $10,000 shortfall, seeking donations
CHELAN/MANSON - TLC for Seniors has been offering “in-person” visits to clients for almost three months. We are so thankful to have safe, personal contact with most of our TLC friends.  During August to mid- October 2020, we have met with six new seniors/families and brought on five TLC clients. Two new TLC volunteers have begun serving. During August and September friendship visits have doubled over “no contact” March-July levels. The length of visits is increasing from one hour/visit back to our usual two hours/visit as volunteers are able to provide relief from social isolation, caregiver support and transportation.
TLC, like other non-profits, is suffering financially from the reduction in grant opportunities this fall. TLC has a $10,000 shortfall and we appreciate any donations. You can give on line: chelanvalleyhope.org., click Donate To TLC or by mail: TLC for Seniors, PO Box 635, Chelan WA 98816
Since August 2017, Tender Loving Care, an Affiliate of Chelan Valley Hope, has provided services to help seniors live comfortably in their own homes: companionship, connection to other community services, support for caregivers and transportation for medical appointments and shopping. This is a volunteer organization that aligns your loved one with a friendly presence, all carried out under the Safe Start parameters of our Governor and CDC guidelines during this COVID-19 time.  TLC is actively seeking seniors who would like the friendship and support of a TLC volunteer.  Please call Claudia Swenson, 360-561-6090 or Kathy Miller, 509-470-2843 for more information.
