CHELAN - Season Passes and Lake Chelan Nordic Club memberships can be purchased on the website at LakeChelanNordic.org, where you will also find current conditions at Echo Ridge. December 3 report: The following trails were groomed and tracked: Nowhere to Hide, Big Critter and Morning Glory. Little Critter was groomed without a track. About an inch of new snow overnight and cold.

Lake Chelan Food Bank PB&J food drive:

Food Bank will be closed Saturday, Dec. 24
CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Food Bank is doing a Peanut Butter and Jelly, aka PB&J food drive the entire month of December. They are in desperate need of PB&J ingredients for their clients.  Donations may be dropped off in the Lake Chelan Food Bank bins at these local businesses: Campbell’s Resort, Lake Chelan Building Supply in Manson, the Lake Chelan Lions Club Christmas tree sales at Lakeview Drive-In; at the Lake Chelan Chamber of Commerce at the Christmas tree display and at the Lake Chelan Mirror office.
The food bank will be closed on Saturday. December 24, Christmas Eve. Food distribution days in December are: Dec. 10, 13, 17, 20, 27, and 31. Distribution is drive-thru on Saturdays and Tuesdays, 9-10 a.m., at 417 S. Bradley Street.

SAIL Exercise Classes: Dec. 7, Dec. 8, 12, 13
CHELAN - SAIL (Stay Active & Independent for Life) fitness classes are offered at Chelan Senior Center on Monday and Wednesday at 1 p.m. and are taught by Beth Shaw and Linda Hollier. Evening SAIL classes are Monday and Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m., also at the Chelan Senior Center and are taught by Ann Cooper. A SAIL class is offered to residents of Heritage Heights Assisted Living in Chelan on Mondays and Fridays at 2 p.m. taught by Gaylen Willett and Steve Davis.

Chelan Senior Meals: Dec. 7-9, 12-14
CHELAN - The Chelan Senior Center at 534 E. Trow Avenue, hosts Senior Meals Monday-Friday. Suggested donation for seniors over age 60 is $4. Fee for persons under age 60 is $10. Chelan Valley Republican Women: Dec. 9
MANSON -  Chelan Valley Republican Women (CVRW) will hold their December club meeting at Radiance Winery, downtown Manson location, 71 Wapato Way,  Friday, December 9, 6 p.m. Join them for their Christmas Holiday/meeting event. You will hear about their new 2023 meetings format which will include a Constitution Corner and regular updates on local, state and national legislative issues. A luncheon menu of soup, sandwich, salad and dessert will be available for $25, including tax and tip.  Please RSVP your attendance and if you plan to purchase lunch. CHELAN - Every Friday VFW Post #6853, located at 427 S. Bradley Street is open 9-11 a.m. for donuts and coffee and conversation. Veterans are invited to join them every Friday.

Chelan Valley Hope Red Kettle: Dec. 10, 17
CHELAN - Red Kettle is in full swing. Thank you to Campbell’s Resort for hosting the first Red Kettle of the 2022 season. Also, thank you to the IGA Market in Manson for hosting the second Red Kettle. The next Red Kettles will be at the Chelan Walmart on Saturday, December 10, and at Safeway on Saturday, December 17. Kettle donations stay local and help individuals/families receive assistance with food, gas, utilities, rent, prescriptions, clothing, lodging, and more. Glass recycle: Dec. 10

CHELAN - Rotary of Lake Chelan 911 Glass Rescue is open on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m.-noon, at 23235 Highway 97A across from Walmart. They are charging a small fee per pound for glass drop-off. Buckets of the materials produced, sand and aggregate, will be available for purchase at $5 per 5-gallon bucket. City of Chelan residents are asked not to put glass into their blue recycle bins, but to bring it out on Saturday mornings. Their all-volunteer team relies on support from members of the community to make the operation run smoothly every week. They have tasks suitable for all ages and abilities. CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Food Bank food giveaway is on Saturday and Tuesday, 9-10 a.m. Distribution is  drive-thru. They are located at 417 S. Bradley Street. The Food Bank is getting requests for pet food. Small bags of dog food are best. They can be dropped of at the Lake Chelan Mirror office, 131 S. Apple Blossom Drive, Ste. 109 (Chelan Business Center.)

Mobile Food Pantry: Dec. 8
MANSON - The Mobile Food Pantry will be at North Shore Bible Church on Thursday, Dec. 8, noon- 2 p.m. All are welcome. It is a walk thru format and guests pick their own food. This is a regular stop every second Thursday of the month.

Christmas Bazaar: Dec. 10
CHELAN - The Lake Chelan Eagles Auxiliary will hold their Christmas Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 10, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Chelan Eagles Banquet Room, 209 E. Woodin Avenue. There will be crafts, gifts, bake sale, lunch and Santa will be there 11 a.m.-2 p.m. If you would like a booth visit their website lakechelaneagles.com/holiday-bazaar for details.

Manger Mall: Dec. 10

MANSON - Manger Mall has provided gifts to hundreds of children each Christmas since 2009, thanks to the generous support of donors. This season’s event will take place at the North Shore Bible Church in Manson on December 10, where families can visit Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and enjoy a festive atmosphere. OVOC Winter Concert: Dec. 10
OMAK - Okanogan Valley Orchestra and Chorus will present their Winter Concert on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. in the Omak PAC with classic and modern tunes and special guests. As special guests, first and third graders and the Hearts Gathered group from Paschal Sherman Indian School will share songs to kick off the show. The orchestra and chorus will share pieces from both classic and modern holiday favorites, culminating in a joint presentation of the “Hallelujah Chorus.” Tickets are $10 for all adults, free for anyone 18 and younger. Concessions will also be available by donation. The concert is one part of a full day of seasonal activities in the City of Omak, and will end in time for the audience to catch the Twilight Parade.
 

Survivors of Suicide Loss Support Group: Dec. 13

Chronic Disease Support Group:
Dec. 15
CHELAN -  With the support of Aging and Adults and Tender Loving Care for Seniors, an Alzheimer’s Support Group for Chelan/Manson area has restarted. They have opened this meeting to family caregivers of people who have any serious chronic conditions: cardiac, pulmonary, neurologic (post stroke, Parkinson’s Disease, MS) and others. Meetings will be the third Thursday of the month, 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Chelan Valley Hope, 417 S. Bradley Street. Aging and Adults is providing the facilitator, Bob Poindexter, who has great experience in leading support groups.
