CHELAN - A 65th wedding anniversary celebration will be held for Edwin (Buzz) and Sally Hunter of Chelan, on Saturday, October 6, 2-5 p.m at the Church of the Nazarene, 301 E. Okanogan Avenue in Chelan. Finger foods and cake will be served. Dress is casual. All who would like to bring their congratulations and enjoy some time with Buzz and Sally are welcome to come. They are celebrating before the bad weather hits in January.

Buzz (Edwin) and Sally Hunter met in high school and were married on January 12, 1954 in Great Falls, Montana.

Buzz  was in the U.S. Air Force and was being sent to England (Korean war) and asked Sally to travel from Selleck, Wash. to Great Falls, Montana, so they could marry before he flew out.

Sally and her mom, Merle, took a bus to Great Falls, using money borrowed from the egg lady in town.  Buzz and Sally married, spent two days together, then Buzz flew to England, and Sally and her mom took the bus back home to Washington, where Sally finished high school.

After Buzz was honorably discharged, they made their home back in Washington to raise their family.

Buzz and Sally have five children: Elaine, Glenn (Gem), Leanne (Larry), David (Laura) and Paul. They are also blessed with 14 grandchildren,  and 20 plus great-grandchildren.
