Chelan Fire and Rescue welcomes new firefighter

CHELAN - Chelan Fire & Rescue is happy to welcome Firefighter/EMT Darrick Meyers as its newest career member.  Darrick was born in Wenatchee and raised in Marysville, growing up with five sisters and playing year round sports.  He graduated from Marysville-Pilchuk High School in 2010 and went on to graduate from Central Washington University in 2015 with a degree in Exercise Science.

Darrick started his Fire Service career with Chelan County Fire District 1 as a resident firefighter completing his IFSAC Firefighter I/II and Hazmat Operations certifications.  He is a certified Washington State Emergency Medical Technician as well as a Wildland Firefighter.  In addition to his experience with Chelan County Fire District 1 he has also worked with North County Fire & EMS.

Darrick likes to spend his off duty time outdoors hiking or at his cabin at Lake Wenatchee.  He is currently assigned to C-Shift for his probationary year.
