Free brush, yard waste disposal May 10-11

CHELAN - This Friday and Saturday will be the last of the free brush and yard waste disposal. It wil lbe on Friday and Saturday, May 10-11, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., at the Chelan County Transfer Station, 23235 Highway 97A (across from Wal-Mart).  Dispose of vegetation to help reduce your risk to wildfire and decrease impacts to air quality from outdoor burning. Accepted: trees and limbs up to 12 inches in diameter and less than 8 feet long, leaves, pine needles and shrubs. Not accepted: rocks, plastic bags, grass clippings, sod, rood wads, and weeds.

Create a defensible space around your home by removing highly flammable vegetation, including Juniper and Arborviate from your landscape, rake leaves and pine needles from around your structures, clean gutters and roofs of flammable material and prune tree limbers 5-10 feet high around structures.
