HDCA organizes downtown wide street cleanup

In honor of Earth Day, the Historic Downtown Chelan Association organized an annual clean up for downtown Chelan on April 18 and 19. The event was a success with assistance from the City of Chelan, downtown businesses, the Lions Club, community volunteers and students (pictured) from Chelan Middle School and the Chelan School of Innovation. Participants picked up trash and small debris, polished all the statues throughout town as well as swept sidewalks and alleyways. The City of Chelan ran street sweepers to finish the job. “Part of the HDCA’s mission is to keep our downtown beautiful and attractive to locals and visitors alike.” Said Erin McCardle, HDCA’s Executive Director. “This event is a success thanks to working with other great organizations and community members within this small town.”
