Jim Baum to present concert on Saturday, Sept. 8 at Methodist Church in Chelan

Posted

CHELAN - Retired music educator Jim Baum will be in concert at Lake Chelan United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8.
Baum is a well known organist, pianist and vocalist in North Central Washington, and enjoyed his many years of teaching music in Waterville, Mattawa, Mabton and Bridgeport.

Baum has been a lay speaker in the United Methodist Church and other local churches since 1982. He is also an expert in the history of church music, particularly the many women who wrote hundreds of hymns for the Protestant faith.

Baum’s concert will feature secular as well as music of faith, and he will sing along as he plays many of his pieces. He hopes the concert’s good will donations will bring in funds needed for minor repair to the Chelan church’s organ.

All are welcome to enjoy Jim Baum’s music and talent at the Lake Chelan United Methodist Church in downtown Chelan, near the U.S. Post Office, on Johnson Avenue.
