Lou Verellen named Volunteer of the Year

At the annual meeting of the Lake Chelan Historical Society Jane Lloyd, (right) volunteer organizer at the Chelan Museum,  presented Lou Verellen with the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2023. Kristin Heidenthal, author of Lake Chelan Valley spoke at the annual meeting. Her presentation was on the life and work of photographer Lawrence Lindsley. Larry Hibbard, co-owner of the Ruby Theatre also demonstrated his Photoplayer which he has restored. Photoplayers,  large, specialized player pianos with percussion were used early on to accompany motion picture scenarios called photoplays. Election of officers were also held at the annual meeting. Officers for the next three years are: Peach Simonds - Accessions; Dave Clouse - president; Sue Clouse - displays; and Adrienne Carpenter - secretary.
