September 8
It was smoke on the water in Chelan last Thursday for 18 members and one guest. Between coughing and runny noses, we persevered. The competition was Ts and Fs (gross score of holes beginning with the letters T and F, less ½ your handicap.)
Division 1: First Place: Barb Rayburn, 38. Second Place: Jan Artim, 38.5.
Division 2: First Place was a tie between Linda Hahn and Barb D’Ettorre, 37.
Division 3: First Place: Bernie Rayner, 39.5. Second Place was a tie between Judy Johanson and Loa Servis, 41.5.
The lone birdie girl was April Talley on hole 11. Chip-ins were made by April Talley hole 4 and 8, Linda Hahn hole 11, Loa Servis hole 1, Jane Storms hole 15.
This week is our Ladies Invitational Tournament. This is our biggest fundraising opportunity of the year towards our scholarship fund thanks to local businesses and friends and members of our club. This year we also offer an opportunity to give to the scholarship fund in the name of Karen Holst, our club president, who recently passed from Pancreatic cancer. We miss her expertise and enthusiasm she had in planning this tournament.
There will not be tee times available on Thursday, September 15 unless you are playing in the tournament.
