Chelan defeated by Nooksack Valley 46-38

CHELAN - Chelan hosted the Pioneers from Nooksack Valley (Everson) for the Championship of the Holiday Tournament.  Nooksack Valley is from the Northwest Conference and plays in the multi-classification league, 1A, 2A, 3A.  Chelan knew it was going to be a battle and would come down to who makes the best adjustments and who is the more aggressive team.  The Lady Goats started the game with great ball movement and tough defense and led at one point 12-2.  After the first quarter Chelan led 14-7.  Nooksack Valley adjusted their defense and Chelan got into foul trouble and the Lady Goats offense stalled.  Chelan only made two field goals and shot 20% from the foul line in the quarter. The game was tied 19-19 at halftime.

The battle continued in the second half with Chelan getting outscored 7-10.  The 4th quarter Chelan found themselves down by 10 points.  With a key three point basket and better free throw shooting the Goats were able to claw back into the game and only trailed by 4 with time running out.  After necessary fouls and converted free throws the Pioneers prevailed with a 38-46 win.
