Lady Goats lose to Lady Bulldogs

CHELAN - The Chelan Lady Goats hosted a pre-season 6th ranked Cashmere Bulldogs on Tuesday night, Dec. 7. The Goats came right out of the shoot in their 3/4 court press, challenging the Bulldogs to break it down. The Goats defense gave the Bulldogs trouble initially which greatly slowed them down in the back court.
After one the score was 10-7 in favor of the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs began to find a way through the trap in the second quarter and sent the Lady Goats to the locker room reflecting on their 8 point deficit.
The Goats made adjustments however and hung in the game as the third quarter closed the Goats found themselves down by 6. The Goats had several opportunities to cut the Bulldog lead down even further but the Bulldogs persisted and closed out the game with a 12 point victory over the Goats with a final score of 41-29.
Aliyah Finch finished with 16, Morgyn Harrison with 5, Kira Sandoval and Joslynn Simmons each finished with 3 and Beau Nordby added 2. Next game for the Goats is Thursday night at Quincy.

QUINCY - Chelan traveled to Quincy for the Goats second league game of the season. The Lady Goats came out fairly stagnant and the Quincy Jackrabbits paced with Chelan through the first quarter with a score of 13-11 in favor of the Goats. Chelan held Quincy to 5 points in the 2nd quarter however as they stepped up their defensive 3/4 court trapping game. The score at half time was the 29-16 Goats.
Chelan came out of the locker room with some adjustments to their defense and were able to control the tempo and score off of turnovers forced in the trapping game. Offensively Chelan didn’t have their best game but finished with a victory over the Jackrabbits with a final score of 46-30.
Chelan scores were led by Senior Aliyah Finch and Junior Kira Sandoval with 11 each. Junior, Joslynn Simmons added 9 points. Morgyn Harrison chipped in 6, Beau Nordby and Arabelle Finch added 4 each and Jailyn Reinhart had 1.
This puts the Goats at an overall record of 3-1 and 1-1 in league going into Saturday night’s (Dec. 11)non-conference game against La Salle.

CHELAN - The goal for us is to get better as a team each time we step out on the floor. We don’t look to compare ourselves against our opponents but to compare ourselves against us. This is where we can evaluate our growth.
