Chelan 50, Cascade 46
Chelan Boys open up their league play with a gutsy win vs Cascade Tuesday night.  The Kodiaks came out and showed hot shooting early, but Chelan responded right after halftime building a second half lead.  Chelan was able to hang on and win by 4.
The Goats were paced by Sophomore Connor Wilson’s 23pts and 5 rebs.  Quinn Stamps added 12pts and 9 boards.
Cascade was led by Jose Mendoza’s 12 pts.
“I thought our guys did a good job hanging in there and dealing with some adversity in the first half.  They challenged each other at halftime to come out with more defensive intensity and execute better...and they did.  I was pleased with how our team finished the game.  Good win for the Goats!”

 At Okanogan,
Friday,Dec. 8
Chelan 58, Okanogan 73
The Chelan Goats lost to Okanogan Bulldogs Friday night 73-58 in a hard-fought CTL road game.  The Goats played tough against a physical Okanogan team.  The Goats are now 1-1 in league and 1-3 overall.
Chelan was led by Connor Wilson’s 17 pts 4 rebs.
and Quinn Stamps 15 pts 7 rebs.  Okanogan was paced by Jordan Jessee’s 20 pts.  Gage Wilson chipped in 17pts and Martin Grooms added 15.
“We put together some okay stretches of basketball tonight, but overall we had far too many let downs defensively.  We need to commit to playing better team defense and match our opponent’s physicality and intensity.  Credit to the Bulldogs who just outplayed us tonight”

Versus Cascade,
 Tuesday, Dec. 5
The Lady Goats got rolling early vs. Cascade despite some early foul trouble.  Lexie Gleasman’s 15 1st half points jump started the Lady Goats run to a 28 - 14 halftime lead.  Ashley Sams added 8 points in the 2nd half with a variety of mid-range jumpers.   Matea Ivory locked down the point guard spot as Chelan was without Booh Huddleston due to illness.  Molly Oswald was a defensive standout disrupting the Cascade offense all over the floor.
“We defended the perimeter well.  Offensively, we were aggressive getting to the basket, Cascade changed defenses and our team adjusted well” said Chelan Head Coach Steve Nygreen.

At Okanogan,
Friday, Dec. 8
Chelan could not overcome a tough shooting night as the Lady Goats came away from Okanogan with their first road loss of the season 37-29. Chelan held Okanogan to 4 points in the 3rd quarter to climb back in the game.   Xitlali Cruz, Booh Huddleston and Ashley Sams combined for 20 points.  The Goats were down 12 points early in the first half before battling back to a 1 point lead in the 4th quarter.  Chelan’s offense struggled to keep pace as the Bulldogs outscored Chelan 13 to 5 in the final quarter.
“We’ve consistently defended the perimeter well.  Offensively, we were not as aggressive getting to the basket, as evidenced by getting to the line only 4 times on the night.  I loved the defense and saw some bright spots offensively that we can build on.” said Chelan Head Coach Steve Nygreen.
