Coach Richards, eight Goats make CTL soccer All-League list

CHELAN – Chelan varsity soccer coach Jamie Richards was named Coach of the Year for the 2018 Caribou Trail League soccer season and eight of his players landed on the CTL’s All-League lists of First-Team and Second-Team Players.
Chelan seniors Erik Cardenas and Ronaldo Barajas were First-Team picks for the respective positions of forward and midfielder. Junior Juan Capi picked up a nod for first-Team defense and midfielder Jonathan Ramirez was the only freshman to make the First-Team roster.
Junior Miguel Castro was a Second-Team pick at the midfielder position. Sophomores Anndrick Espana and Alexander Marron-Andrade were respective forward and midfielder nominees. Freshman Luis Mendez rounded out Chelan’s Second-Team picks for defense.
Chelan captured the CTL league title with a 7-1 regular season record but was knocked out of state contention by a 2-1 loss to eventual District champion Bridgeport in the loser-out CTL/CWB District tournament semifinals on May 8.
