Entiat High School Football Team

Posted

ENTIAT – In his ninth season coaching at Entiat High, Brian Bailey (Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator) says, “We hope to compete for a League Championship this fall in the Central Washington B League (CWB), and a return trip to the State Playoffs.  (We) have made the State Playoffs 6 out of the last 7 seasons.” Backing up Coach Bailey to help make that happen is Edwin Medina, second season Assistant Coach/Defensive Coordinator, who also played under Coach Bailey and was head coach of Entiat’s middle school last spring.

Coach Bailey has been coaching for 20 seasons at High School football level, nine seasons at Cashmere High, one season at Wenatchee High, one season at Foothills Middle School (Wenatchee) and nine seasons at Entiat High School.
Returning to the field are two seniors, three juniors, two sophomores, six freshmen and one eighth grader. In addition, there are five freshman/eighth graders who are all new to the team.
I asked Coach Bailey if his numbers were up or down from the previous season and he said, “Numbers are similar to last spring but are down quite a bit from the 2016-2019 seasons.” Last season the Tigers were 2-4 last spring (COVID Season) They lost our first four games then won their last two. Bailey says, “We improved a lot throughout. Last full-season in fall 2019 we were 10-3 and reached the State Semis & finished third in State 1B.”
The toughest opponents this year are Liberty Bell and Soap Lake, which are “our two toughest League Opponents.”
When asked who were the team’s standouts this year Coach Bailey says, “Christian Santos (Junior  WR/DB), Garrett Giacomazzi (Senior TE/OLB), Landon Crutcher (junior QB/OLB), Pedro Arias (sophomore RB/DB) and Braedyn Brumback (freshman).
