Flaten named new CHS head softball coach

Softball season begins April 5

CHELAN - Chelan High School (CHS) announced March 10 that Mrs. Allison Flaten has been  hired as the new Head Softball Coach, pending school board approval. Coach Flaten was selected by a committee of  administrators, head coaches, parents, and students. The 2021 Spring Softball season is set to begin on Monday April  5, as are the rest of the CHS Spring Sports. 

Allison Flaten graduated from The University of Washington with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance. She  was a high school graduate from Issaquah High School. Her and her husband Josh along with their two dogs Cash and Hank moved to Chelan a year ago. They are the owners of County Line Eat & Drink on Woodin Avenue. 

Coach Flaten has played the sport of softball since a young age. She competed in the sport throughout her high school career in Issaquah. Playing on the varsity team all four years. She also competed for four years on the USA Fastpitch team, Eastside Elite. 

In her free time coach Flaten enjoys walking her dogs, cooking, outdoor recreation, and watching Seahawk and Husky games. 

When asked what she is most excited about, Coach Flaten had this to say, “I am most excited about having an opportunity to provide a positive impact and collaborative and team focused experience for the students. Softball was a sport I loved and committed a significant amount of my high school years focused on. I am excited to share my passion for the sport as well the skills I built over the years with my teammates. Overall, I want to provide an inclusive, positive, and energetic experience for everyone who participates. Go Goats!”
