Goats lose to Jackrabbits in district matchup

Posted

Oct. 29
WENATCHEE  - Saturday, the Goats battled in the district game vs. the Quincy Jackrabbits. The game was played at the Apple Bowl in Wenatchee. The sun was shining and the weather was perfect for a fall soccer game. Unfortunately for the Goats the game would not go as planned.
The Jackrabbits would take an early lead off of a set piece free kick. This would give them the lead going into the second half.  However, the Goats would control the game and would have numerous opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net.
Such a chance would come for Senior Arden Paglia who would gather a ball off a rebound from a corner kick. She would place the ball into the back of the net. This would create a 1-1 tie.  The jackrabbits were able to get one final goal with 10 minutes to play off a corner kick.
The Goats would continue to battle, sending nearly every player forward on the attack to try and score. In the end and with many chances the Goats were unable to prevail to move on in their season. The Goats ended the year with a 9-7-1 record. The Goats will be graduating eight seniors this year. However, with the loss of some key players the Goats are optimistic about what next year has in store for them. They are already planning and working on how they can better their games for the next season.
All eight seniors will be greatly missed. They will be leaving behind a legacy of winning that the underclassmen are looking forward to continuing. This group of seniors was able to not only once but twice beat the Cascade Kodiaks. This had not been done since 2005. They also finished in 2nd place in the CTL last year. Joslynn, Kenia, Macie, Arden, Kyleigh, Irene, Diana, and Olga Congratulations on a great season and a job well done.
Thanks to all who have supported the Goats this year. Go Goats.
