CHELAN – The Lady Goats hosted the Okanogan Bulldogs in an intense match between the teams. With an equally matched offense and defense, both teams were unable to put any scores on the board in the first half, “Ashley Sams had some big saves,” explained Head Coach Michael Tucker, “and was quick off her line to clean up through balls and support her back four.”
The second half was almost a completely separate game in terms of scores. With the Bulldogs being the first to find the back of the net, the Goats fought the match up the scores with a quick pass from Jade Hatherell to Wendy Mendez, who launched the ball in to the inner side of the goal, resulting in a score of 1-1. After a continued back and forth between the two teams, the game ended with a final score of 2-2, resulting in a shootout. “We would miss our first two shots and have two shots saved, while Ashley (Sams) saved one, Okanogan would score two to secure the win,” concluded Tucker.
The Lady Goats will be on the road next, heading to Wahluke, Saturday Oct. 21.
