Lady Trojans face dual defeat from Lake Roosevelt

MANSON – The Manson Trojan softball team hosted Lake Roosevelt on Thursday, April 19, for a rare weekday double header and dropped both games to the tough Raider team.
1st game: Manson 2- Lake Roosevelt 28
Alexis Stotko pitched the first game- ending with 1 strike out and walked 2.
Scoring runs for the Trojans were Paige Schoenwald and Melanie Marin.
Alexis Stotko and Veronica Lulo each marked up hits in the game.
Defensive highlights include great catches by Trojan freshman, Ali Adame, in right field; and another by freshman Marylein Bernardo in left field.
Paige Schoenwald also had a great catch on an infield pop fly and Mara Vargas had a great instinctive catch on a hard-hit line drive to third.
2nd Game: Manson 1 - Lake Roosevelt 34
Salena Joiner had the Trojan’s first hit of the second game and Melanie Marin added two more for the Trojans.
Josephine Thompson scored the only run of the game.
The Defensive highlight for the day was the Trojan’s first double play of the season- a nice play initiated by shortstop, Josephine Thompson, to Mara Vargas at 2nd, who threw to catcher, Salena Joiner, for the second out.
Bryanna Harris also caught a pop fly to end the game for the Trojans.
