Manson falls to Brewster 22-6

MANSON - The Manson football team started sloppy and could not recover Friday (March 5) falling to Brewster 22-6.  Manson opened its season at home with 65 fans in attendance to watch a rare March high school football game.  Manson turned the ball over twice on early possessions leading to a quick 8-0 deficit.  The Trojans moved the ball well at times in the first half but threw a interception at the goal line that eliminated a early scoring opportunity.  Brewster took commanding 22-0 lead into half-time.

Manson made good halftime adjustments to start the half that led to a quick score.  In the second half the Trojans were led by freshman QB Angel Lopez who threw for 155 yards and a touchdown.  His favorite target was freshman wide receiver Ben Cullison who had 3 catches for 86 yard.   On the ground the Trojans were led by Senior Caden Beazley with 142 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Manson shut out the Bears in the second half behind strong defense led by Cody Fitzpatrick and Caden Beazley.  Beazley led the team with 9 tackles.   The Trojans were close to narrowing the deficit as they had a 1st and goal on the 1 yard line with 15 minutes to play but a second red-zone turnover sealed their fate.

Manson traveled to Warden on Friday (March 12).
