MANSON - The Trojans welcomed Waterville to beautiful Singleton Park on Saturday, March 18 for the 2023 season opener.
After a longer than usual stretch of snow and mud, prayers for sunshine were answered, and the baseball field and the weather were dialed-in for the double header.
The Trojans came into the game with confidence and looked to match their play with their potential.
The Trojans sent junior captain Brooks Pinski to the hill, his younger brother freshman Cooper Pinski did the catching. The elder Pinski, a hard throwing right hander, made quick work of the Shockers.  Pinski pitched six innings striking out a whopping 16 Shockers walking only one while giving up only one hit using 77 pitches in a brilliant pitching performance before a large and loud hometown crowd.
The inspired Trojan offense put up 10 runs on 13 hits in 6 innings capping the game with a smooth slide over home plate by sophomore Jerry Villasenor.

Sophomore Maddox Hazim had 3 hits with a double and a triple while the Pinski brothers each had multiple hits and doubled.
Trojans with hits were Cooper Pinski (2), Carter Lyman, Brooks Pinski (2), Maddox Hazim (3), William Hutchinson (2), Blake Orton (2), Spencer Thompson.
Waterville 0 - Manson 10

Game 2
The Trojans sent sophomore lefty Maddox Hazim to the hill for game 2 and freshman Cooper Pinski again did the catching.
Hazim dominated much like his teammate in game 1.  Hazim threw a 5 inning shutout, striking out 10 walking 3 using 76 pitches to get the win.
The Trojan’s offense was unleashed and scored 18 runs. Hazim helped himself with an opposite field, bases loaded, inside the park home run.  Brooks Pinski drove in 2, with a double and scored 4 runs.
Trojans with hits were Cooper Pinski (2), Brooks Pinski (2), Rock England, Blake Orton, Spencer Thompson (2).
The Trojan defense was flawless not recording an error on the day and defending 11 straight scoreless innings.
Waterville 0 - Manson 18
