Chelan edges Cashmere in OT 76-73
Chelan        9   17   20   15  15   76
Cashmere  18  19   10   14  12   73

The Chelan Goats erased a double digit first half deficit to storm back to beat the Cashmere Bulldogs 76-73 in an OT thriller played in Wenatchee's Town Toyota Center.  Chelan's dynamic backcourt of Bert Mendivil and Connor Wilson led the charge in the second half where Chelan scored 50pts to eclipse the Bulldogs.
Town Toyota Center - Chelan Sophomore Connor Wilson led all scorers with 31 points.  Bert Mendivil netted 16 points and 4 assists and Quinn Stamps added 12 points and 6 rebounds.
Wilson's points came on 7 three pointers, including 6 in the second half and 4 of 8 free throws during the game.
Cashmere was led by Sam Phillips' 19 points, Noah Phillips added 17, Tyler Kert finished with 15 and Freshmen Carter Alberts chipped in 16.
"I'm extremely proud of how our team persevered tonight.  We committed to a better effort defensively in the 2nd half and that sparked our offense.  Our guys never counted themselves out, not even for a moment.  We talked a lot this week about believing in each other and trusting in one another as teammates, I thought tonight the boys bought in to this and displayed that exact togetherness.  And I can't say enough about the job our assistant coaches, Austin, Damian, and Tido did in my absence to lead our guys to a big win."
Chelan goes to 3-5 on the season, 2-2 in league.  Chelan will host its' Annual Holiday Tournament at the Community Gym Wednesday, December 27th and Thursday, December 28th.

Chelan 24     Cashmere 66

Freshman Booh Huddleston's 11 points weren't enough for the Lady Goats as Cashmere trapped and double-teamed their way to a 66 - 24 victory.   Cashmere got 21 points from senior Cami Kinishka and 19 from Sophomore Hailey Van Lith.
"Cashmere put a big run on us in the 1st quarter.  Booh Huddleston willed her way through their traps and double teams to lead our team in scoring. Cashmere's defensive pressure was the key to the game.  We didn't consistently see the floor.  They're one of the best teams in the state... they showed it." said Chelan Head Coach Steve Nygreen.
The Lady Goats are home Dec. 27 and 28 for the Chelan Holiday Tournament.  The Lady Goats will play Concrete on Wednesday the 27th at 6:30 p.m.

Wrestling
Submitted by Head Coach Jeffrey Chambers

Tuesday Night wrestling in Okanogan is always fun and tonight was no different. As your Chelan wrestlers, loaded the bus to head out too our second Double dual tonight, out at Okanogan High, we knew it was going to be a tough night. We first, lined up against a young, but tough Cashmere Bulldog team. We started fast on the score board with a couple pins by our 220lb wrestler and freshman kid Adrian “AJ” Martinez, but to not be out done one of our seniors 285lb Bryan Mendoza also, got a quick pin. As we got into the lighter weights, it was the same thing tough battles and at the end of the dual our Chelan Goats prevailed, which allowed us to top Cashmere in league leaving us 2-0 against those Cashmere Bulldogs.
For the first time in league we went up against a well-coached and hardnosed, Okanogan team that left their mark on us. Okanogan started out winning the first couple matches, but the Goat stamina out lasted and were able to pull away, with a tough hard-fought win as a team. With your Chelan Goats having a full line-up facing Okanogan we won the battle of forfeits. Which, put our team over the hump and allowed us to win the head to head with this tough Okanogan team. We also had our Lead Team Captain our 138lb Javier Pastor get a huge pin and win that was followed up by our 145lb Alvaro Arteaga that battled all 3 periods to seal the deal for our Goat team.  It allowed us to go up 1 – 0 against that Okanogan team.
As the holidays are getting closer our Chelan Mountain Goat wrestlers are getting ready for a tough outing as we head to Royal City for their holiday tournament on Dec. 27, which should be a great mid-season test for us Goats.
We also, follow that Royal tournament up by hosting our 2nd Annual Chelan High New Year’s Eve Wrestling Tournament at home on Dec. 30, with wrestling kicking off at 10 a.m., so come on out and support our home town boys, and watch these young men compete.
