Trojan baseball ends season with 12-5 record

MANSON - The Trojans welcomed Waterville for a weekday league single-header for the last regularly scheduled game of the season and Senior Night. 

The Trojans came into the game with a 11-5 record overall, having already clinched a district playoff spot and heading to Wenatchee next weekend needing to win two games to move on to regional play.

The team, honoring the 2019 Seniors and Manson Trojan Baseball Alumni, wore throw back uniforms for the game.

All seven seniors drew the start for the Trojans; Cole Beazley LF, Victor Calderon CF, Bailey Cameron RF. Jake Lodwig 1B, Bryan Bernardo 2B, Jose Pascasio at catcher and Avery Thompson at pitcher. 

Thompson pitched 4 innings giving up 0 runs on 2 hits, striking out 8 and walking 3 using 65 pitches.

Pitching in relief was Jose Pascasio who pitched 3 innings giving up 2 runs on 1 hit, striking out 6 and walking 0 using 37 pitches.

The defense played well committing only 2 errors, and outstanding plays were turned in by Bailey Cameron and Parker Schoenwald. 

Offensively the Trojans used their senior mojo to score 7 runs on 8 hits. Jose Pascasio has the hot bat going 3 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI’s, Avery Thompson helped himself with 2 RBI’s, Caleb Rossell had a single and coasted into second base with a stand up double, and Cole Beazley revved it up at second base with a 2 RBI double, his first hit as a Trojan.

Trojans with hits were: Jose Pascasio (3) 2B, Caden Beazley, Caleb Rossell (2) 2B, Victor Calderon, Cole Beazley 2B.

The Trojans end the regular season with an overall record of 12-5.

The Trojans’ next game is a district playoff game in Wenatchee next weekend.
