LCM File Photo Bill Lippincott, a former Cashmere High School football coach, was the one who originally started up the hype about the coveted Bronze Shoe trophy. Lippincott coached Cashmere into a winning team beginning in 1949. The Bronze Shoe trophy was molded from Lippincott’s old football shoe. Lippincott moved to Chelan in 1953 and began coaching the Chelan Goats into a winning team. That is when the rivalry between the two teams officially began. Now, the two teams compete each year to see who will be the champions and take home the ultimate prize of the Bronze Shoe. Mr. Lippincott passed away in May of 2012.
