85 new homes planned for Chelan, area resident warns of safety issues

Posted
Greetings Granite Glen members,
I am sure you are all aware of the work going on by Selland Construction on the access road to the Lake Hills subdivision.  The City of Chelan has approved the development of 85 lots pending final approval from Chelan County of the approach permit to tie into North Bradley.
I am very concerned about the County approving that intersection without major improvements.  A vehicle traveling uphill and stopping for downhill traffic before turning left into Lake Hills will never get going again on an icy road and will ‘spin out’ and create a huge hazard for anyone coming downhill.  How many times have we all seen people get stuck on that stretch as is?!  How would a School bus get stopped to avoid an accident?
I encourage each and all of you to contact Doug England (or his replacement after today) to express your concerns as well as Eric Pierson, Director of the Public Works Department who will give the final approval of this permit.
If you have any questions of me, call 470-2002.

Jim Colbert, Chelan
