Topic is front page news

Dear Editor,

Thank you for publishing a front page article reminding us about masking. This topic is front page news.

Conversely, a two column spread advocating disproven or ineffective Covid treatments from Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, a “politically conservative non-profit association that promotes medical disinformation” (Source-Wikipedia) is irresponsible, in my opinion. This group also published an article in 2008 claiming that candidate Barack Obama was captivating his audiences through hypnosis.

Physicians and researchers worldwide are diligently pursuing effective treatment for Covid-19, and most of the treatments outlined in the published “treatment protocol” are being used for patients with progressive illness caused by Covid 19. Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine and antibiotics such as doxycycline and azithromycin are quoted in the article and are not recommended at this time for treatment of Covid-19.

I would encourage your readers to look at the treatment recommendations from the American Academy of Family Physicians or the Mayo Clinic website at  HYPERLINK "http://mayoclinic.org/"mayoclinic.org for accurate up to date medical advice on managing Covid-19. Your family physician is also a trusted source for treatment recommendations.
