Carol Jenkins of Chelan is the latest artist to grace the walls of the Lake Chelan Library. Her artwork can be seen hanging from the various walls around the library. Her paintings, which have some pastel work will be hanging in the Library for the next two months as they continue to feature local artists in the Chelan Valley. On April 5, 2017 Commander Robert Serafini of Lake Chelan VFW Post #6853 presented an AED to Chelan County Sheriff Brian Burnett for use in a unit posted to the Chelan and Manson area. The Sheriff's goal is to have an AED in all of the patrol units, county wide.

The wind was strong, the weather cool, but those who arrived in Entiat for the 2017 Kite Festival had smiles and that's all that mattered. The annual event was held Saturday, March 18 featured a good variety of kites in all shapes and sizes. Kite painting, a trio of musicians and family fun on a late winter's day.

The Chelan Friends of the Public Library received a $3,200 grant from Chelan’s Wilbur-Elis Company and as a result they have installed a art rail gallery system that will change every two months. Local photographer Gary Rittenmeyer is exhibiting his wildlife shots till April.

The Chelan Senior Center was filled with the wonderful aroma of corned beef and steamed cabbage on Friday in celebration of St. Patty’s Day. Seniors from Manson and Chelan gathered for the prepared lunch - many wearing the festive green - and listened to LCCHC CEO Kevin Abel give a presentation on the proposed new hospital.

Holly Hunter (pictured third from right) was recognized by the Chelan County Sheriff Department for all of the work she has done over the years at Walmart. Hunter, a Chelan graduate in 2011, enlisted in the armed forces after she graduated and served for 3-years before returning to Chelan.
