25 Mile Creek Fire reaches 4,000 acres

Posted

Evacuations notices for the 25 Mile Fire were issued Sunday evening for the following areas: Level 3 (Go!) for all properties north of Fields Point Landing on South Lakeshore Road (from 17205 South Lakeshore Road and north). Level 2 (Get Set): From Fields Point Landing to Morning Sun Drive. Level 1 (Get Ready): From Morning Sun Drive to Kelly’s Resort (12800 S. Lakeshore Road). Fields Point Landing was closed on Monday due to the fire.

The American Red Cross has set up a shelter at Morgen Owings Elementary School on Woodin Avenue with access on Bradley Street.
A Type 3 incident management team is in place and a Type 2 team has been ordered and will arrive on Wednesday, August 18.
Chelan County Emergency Management is asking everyone to stay away from South Lakeshore Road. The road is closed just past Fields Point Landing. If you are not a property owner or resident, do not go above Lake Chelan State Park or Navarre Coulee Road. There is a one-lane detour route at Slide Ridge because of the ongoing construction project there, that detour route needs to be kept open for fire equipment and evacuations.
Boaters and drones are reminded to stay out of the area where planes and helicopters are dipping water out of the lake for fire suppression.
