Apple Acres Fire 99% contained

The Apple Acres Fire which started on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7, at 11:25 a.m., on Apple Acres Road, near Antoine Creek Road, is 99% contained, and has burned 5,500 acres as of the latest report Sept. 15. The fire spread quickly due to strong winds and low relative humidity and is burning in grass, brush, and timber. This photo looks south at homes located on Apple Acres Road, between Antoine and Washington Creek Roads. In the upper left of the photo you can see where the Pearl Hill Fire was stop, as it headed towards McNeil Canyon area. As of last report the Pearl Hill Fire, which was started when the Cold Springs Fire jumped the Columbia River at Bridgeport. is at 223,730 acres and is 94 percent contained. The Cold Springs Fire is at 189,923 acres and 90 percent contact. For the lastest information to to inciweb.nwcg.gov
