Chelan Transfer Station brush yard to close for a week starting Thurs., Oct. 1

CHELAN - The drop-off brush yard at the Chelan Transfer Station will be closed for a week beginning Thursday, Oct. 1.
The brush yard will be closed Oct. 1-7 so staff can chip the large brush pile that has accumulated there. The rest of the transfer station will be open normal hours.
When the brush yard re-opens on Thursday, Oct. 8, wood chips will be available for free to the public. When picking up woodchips, bring a shovel, gloves and other necessary equipment to load the material into your vehicle.
The public is also reminded that the Chelan Transfer Station will switch to its winter hours on Oct. 1, closing an hour earlier. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday from Oct. 1 through April 30.
