City of Chelan selects Karma for Lake Chelan Golf Course Restaurant

Posted

CHELAN - The City of Chelan has contracted with the owners of Karma Winery in Chelan to operate all food and beverage concessions at Lake Chelan Golf Course.

The Albatross, as the restaurant will be called, has an initial term for the contract from Spring 2022 into 2027. Up to two five-year extensions may be executed by the operator after that. “Albatross” is a golfing term indicating a “hole in two” on a par 5 course, also known as a double eagle.

“This is a very exciting opportunity to significantly enhance one of our greatest parks and recreation assets for the City of Chelan,” said Paul Horne, City of Chelan Parks Director. “We expect the team from Karma to deliver a great dining experience that our golfers and other members of the community deserve.”

As part of the agreement, the restaurant owners will be investing an estimated $345,000 over the next two years to improve the building. The main dining area, kitchen, bathrooms, and outdoor patios are all targeted for major renovations. In addition, The Albatross will be purchasing a new beverage cart to serve golfers while they’re playing the course.

Julie Pittsinger, co-owner of Karma Ventures with her husband, Bret, is thrilled about the opportunity. “We love the Chelan community and believe the Lake Chelan Golf Course is an excellent venue for us to deliver the Karma experience.”

“We are so excited for our experience restaurant team to serve golfers, tourists, and others at this facility. It has so much potential!”

The selection was based on a competitive RFQ process that was managed by Coldwell Banker Cascade Real Estate. Adam Rynd, designated broker of the firm, said the professional fees for managing the process will be donated back to the Lake Chelan Community Center.
