DNR Fire Investigators seeking witnesses in Union Valley Fire

Posted

ELLENSBURG – DNR is asking for the public’s help in its ongoing investigation of the Union Valley Fire in Chelan. Fire investigators are attempting to contact potential witnesses with information relating to the cause and initial location of the fire.
Investigators would like to speak with drivers and passengers of several vehicles seen in the vicinity of Union Valley Road at approximately 2 p.m. on August 30. Specifically, fire investigators are attempting to locate and speak with occupants of a small white sedan, a newer model white GM pickup and a red Dodge pickup. These vehicles may have passed a green and white dump truck towing an excavator on that date and time. Investigators believe the occupants of these vehicles witnessed information relevant to the investigation.
Members of the public with information should contact Senior Fire Investigator Bruce Long at bruce.long@dnr.wa.gov.
