Former Chelan Fire Chief Tim Lemon passes away

CHELAN- Former Chelan Fire and Rescue Fire Chief Tim Lemon passed away Tuesday, September 17, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. His wife Cathy Johnson Lemon, along with other family members were at his side.

 

His fire service career spread over 39 years, starting as a volunteer in Pierce County Fire District #16 and eventually becoming a training and safety officer in King County. He served as fire chief in Maple Valley, from 2001-2009 before moving to Chelan where he held the position of fire chief for 10 years, leaving earlier this summer to assume the position of Fire Chief for North Whidbey Fire and Rescue.

A memorial service is being planned with more details to follow as they are finalized.
