Interested in building climate resiliency in Chelan County? Roundtable discussion Thursday, Nov. 17

Posted
Chelan County residents with an interest in building climate resiliency at the local level are encouraged to participate in a roundtable discussion on Thursday, Nov. 17
The Chelan County Climate Resilience Roundtable will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 17, at Confluence Technology Center, 285 Technology Center Way in Wenatchee. People can also participate via Zoom. The link to the Zoom meeting is below.
In 2020, Chelan County released its Climate Resiliency Strategy, a report developed from multiple workshops and community engagement efforts. The strategy seeks to build a foundation for future climate resilience and adaptation work in Chelan County.
The roundtable meetings, held quarterly this past year, expand on the strategy and will coordinate the priority activities identified by the Climate Resiliency Strategy. At each meeting, attendees are divided into small committees to focus on the following areas of impact: forest health/wildfire, water resources, public health and vulnerable communities, and education and outreach.
People are welcome to choose what group aligns with their interests and then are encouraged to participate at whatever level works best for them. No specific education or area of expertise are needed.
Future roundtable meetings in 2023 will be held 2 to 4 p.m. on the third Thursday of the months of February, May, August and November.
