Chelan Mayor Bob Goedde, commenting about Veterans Day celebrations stated, “I don’t like to march, but I march to honor the 55,000 that didn’t come home from Vietnam.”
Mayor Goedde, a non-voting member of the council, also stated that he hoped any future designs and construction approvals for downtown Chelan coming from SJC Alliance didn’t make Chelan look like Bellevue.”
He was assured by other council members that any design and construction plans would allow plenty of time to review them before any actual building took place.
“There are three phases before construction would begin,” said City Councilman Erin McCardle.
Councilman Tim Hollingsworth, remarking on the renewal of Andrew Kottkamp’s contract as the city’s hearing examiner, stated it was “protecting us against litigation.”
Kottkamp, a Wenatchee-based lawyer who has been working with the city since 2001, increased his fees $100 to $725 per hearing and $10 to $180 per hour for special hearings.
Kottkamp currently serves as Land Use Hearing Examiner for seven area counties and 14 cities and towns.
