Peaceful demonstration held in Chelan

Demonstrators in the hundreds gathered in Riverwalk Park and marched through downtown Chelan on Sunday, June 7 at noon, in support of the Black Lives Matter movement and the death of Minneapolis citizen George Floyd. After their march they returned to Riverwalk Park and listened to several speakers. Floyd died May 25 in a well-documented incident while in the custody of Minneapolis police officers. Demonstrations in more than 150 cities have erupted from the nation’s capital to Los Angeles and internationally as participants protested police brutality associated with Floyd’s death.
