Two die in three car accident on Highway 97

Editors note: According to a report from the Washington State Patrol vehicle one driven by Luis E. Florespinzon, 29, of Mexico, was southbound on Highway 97, crossed the centerline for an unknown reason and struck vehicle two, drive by Tristin J. Shirley, 77, from Bellingham, which was northbound, driver-side to driver-side. That caused vehicle two to roll and vehicle’s two trailer to become detached. Vehicle two then struck vehicle three, which was southsbound behind vehicle one and driven by Erick R. Erickson, 72, of Quincy. That caused the boat to become detached from vehicle three’s trailer. Florespinzon, along with Luis G. Leveronrodriguez, 31, from Seattle,  were declared deceased at the season. Nine were transported to Central Washington Hospital.
 
ORONDO - Two people are deceased after a three-vehicle head-on collision occurring just after 1 p.m. on June 7, on US Highway 97 six miles north of Orondo. 
First arriving fire units found a blocking accident involving three vehicles, one boat and a camp trailer. One pickup on it’s top, the boat was off it’s trailer and the camp trailer was over a guardrail. All vehicles sustained severe damages. First responders on begin immediate rendering aid to 13 injured accident victims on arrival. 
Two patients required extrication with the Jaws of life tools. Eleven patients were treated at the scene and then transported to Central Washington Hospital. Two patients were declared deceased at the scene. 
Twenty-two first responders were on scene from Orondo Fire, Chelan Fire, Ballard, Ambulance, Waterville Ambulance, Douglas County Sheriff and the Washington State Patrol.
The Washington State Patrol is investigating the accident to determine the cause.
