Chelan Fire & Rescue, along with area fire departments and the Washington State Dept. of Natural Resources, responded to the Stayman Flats area on Monday afternoon, July 18, for the report of a brush fire, which grew to approximately 1,200 acres during the week and on Friday, July 22 was declared 100% contained. In addition to boots on the ground the fire was fought with air resources, and Level 1 and Level 3 evacuation notices were issued in the area.
