Posted

CHELAN - More than 40 volunteers, staff, and friends of Chelan Valley Hope and the Lake Chelan Food Bank gathered on Friday, April 29, to celebrate Volunteer Appreciation Day at the Cornerstone Building in Chelan.  Both agencies serve the community out of that location and have many clients in common.  In attendance were also volunteers from Seniors Tender Loving Care, a home visitation program assisting seniors to live comfortably in their own home through companionship and connection. They can be reached at 509-699-9042.

Those in attendance enjoyed the springtime weather, visiting with each other, and a slice of delicious pie donated by Blueberry Hills Restaurant in Manson. The special event included an Open House tour of the Food Bank and Chelan Valley Hope, including a look at the new Client  Resource Center, where clients can improve their connectivity to the greater community, including potential employers and regional services.

The Food Bank provides food boxes on Tuesday and Saturday mornings via drive-through services.  More information is available at info@LakeChelanFoodBank.org and at 509-368-4151.

Chelan Valley Hope is a broad menu, nonprofit social services agency, furthering positive changes in people’s lives. Individuals and families can call for an appointment for help ranging from rent and utilities assistance to nonfood pantry items to food and fuel vouchers.   More information is available at their website; chelanvalleyhope.org, and by calling 509-888-2114.
